Bella Dionne • July 6, 2016

Deep in the foothills of the Ozarks there is a shining beacon, a lighthouse that shines for all of the community. Wite Rayvn Metaphysical Church of the Ozarks ~ ATC is a non-profit, tax exempt organization (501c3) whose focus and mission of serving the WHOLE community is evident in the many projects they are involved in all over the USA. In Kansas they sponsor training on Grey Water applications, and in Kentucky they sponsor the Panda Project, which gives much needed support to those who have lost common household items and furniture due to a variety of reasons. In Missouri they assist the larger community with home improvement supplies, and sweat equity, as well as practice and teach sustainable living on their 4.9 acre retreat center. This year they are working to create a much needed Food Pantry for the West Plains area as well. Established in 2009, they also offer classes and activities to the new seeker or the advanced practitioner. They offer many opportunities to enjoy Pagan fellowship, including open Full Moon circles, open Sabbats, and periodic parties for both adults and children. All Wite Rayvn clergy are licensed and ordained to serve the God and Goddess and minister to the community.

The Wite Rayvn Retreat Center was formed just 2 and a half years ago when they took over a property that had been formerly run by an absentee landlord. They reclaimed the land, pond, and grounds to create a sustainable community with gardens, a labyrinth, grey water and black water applications, a Men’s Grove, a Women’s Grove, 50 permanent camp sites, a shower house with hot and cold running water, bathroom facilities, a large outdoor ritual circle and is working on implementing solar power to run their barn and cabins. This community is supported by many people in the area of many faiths.

When they arrived, their church building was open to the elements with sloping walls and damaged floors. Through re-purposing and donations of materials, they have reclaimed the building, installed power, new roof and floors, AC and heat. This building is now in use today as the indoor event building, and as the medical facility for their festivals.
