The Troth Officially Rescinds Loki Ban

Philadelphia, PA, United States – January 2, 2019

The High Rede of The Troth in its fourth quarter 2018 Rede Meeting has officially rescinded the 2008 ban on the hailing of Loki at Troth-sponsored events.

The new official policy allows for the hailing of Loki at all official events except for those that are specifically dedicated to a particular being, such as the Idunna blot at Trothmoot. This policy does not apply to official events that are hosted by Troth Affiliated Kindreds (TAK) who are allowed to maintain their own thew (virtues) at these events.

The new policy furthers the Troth’s goal of inclusiveness to all who follow a Germanic and Norse path. Starting in 2019, a Loki blot will be hosted for the next ten years, one for each year the ban was in place.
